Smart panel selector — the new-chat window

Shipped — the smart panel selector went live 2026-06-18; this remains the interactive specimen. See Current functions.

An interactive mockup of roadmap §5: instead of browsing the whole library, the user describes their situation and the room curates a panel they can edit. Phone-first, themed light / dark / e-ink. The library list below is the project's real persona roster.

Example situation in the box: “Leaving my job to start a company. First-time founder, weighing the downside.” — try it: switch panels with 1 · 2 · 3, remove a row with its ×, expand Advanced, or tap Hand-pick / Add more to open the full library.

What's new versus today's picker

removeOne persona per row, reason on the right. Selected characters are a list — glyph, name + local name, role, and the why in the right rail — each with an ×. No more scrolling the long library to find a checked name and untick it.

curateThree panels, one tap apart. Convene returns three complementary panels (recommended pre-selected); the muted 1 · 2 · 3 switch flips between them. A new user can ignore it entirely.

hand-pickHand-pick = the library, two doors. Hand-pick and + Add more open the same search + list dialog (the one shipping today, minus its dials). Picks merge into Your panel; hand-picked rows carry no why.

mobileHeader and footer pinned; the panel list scrolls. The title, situation, and panel switch stay put, Start chat is always one tap away, and the library opens as its own full screen — never a scroll inside a scroll.

advancedThe dials fold away. Model · Language · Temperament · Intensity collapse behind Advanced with a live summary line, so creating a chat isn't intimidating but every dial is one tap away.
